STAYING UP-TO-DATE
Annual regulatory lessons are mandatory for all employees and assigned at the beginning of the year. These lessons are crucial to ensure the University of Utah holds the safety of our patients and employees to the highest possible standards and are compliant with CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory services. They are also important for the University’s continuing accreditation. Training courses are assigned according to your role.
Thank you for ensuring our organization maintains compliance.
ANNUAL COMPLIANCE FAQ's
-
Anyone with payroll reporter security can view the Annual Compliance data on HRIL. For instructions on how to use HRIL, please click here.
Direct supervisors in Health Academics can also view reports in Bridge.
-
Employees who complete their courses in Bridge are updated automatically overnight each day. Employees who complete their courses in the Hospital LMS are done manually as needed.
-
You are most likely looking at a historical record. Instead, when running your HRIL report select the TRAINING SUMMARY (CURRENT).
-
Courses can get stuck if you rush through the course too quickly or the internet connection times out prior to completion. It is best to start the course over and complete from the beginning. Often re-setting your cache fixes the problem. Reach out to the HR Training team for additional assistance.
-
If you are assigned annuals, it's because you are currently in a job/affiliate code that is required to take annuals. If you have been assigned annuals because you are in the wrong job code, please work with your HR contact to be put in the correct job code. We cannot offer exemptions for people who are in the wrong job code.
-
You are only required to take annuals for the current year. When annuals are renewed, there will be a new due date and courses will need to be completed by March 31 or within 30 days of being hired if starting after February 1. All the courses in your required Bridge learning page are current.
-
Employees who have job records at the Hospital and in Health Academics may be assigned in both Bridge and LMS. For those individuals, data will be shared across platforms and you will not need to complete twice. The data is not transferred in real time. If you are not an employee of the Hospital and did take the courses in LMS, the completion data is not shared and you will need to take annuals in Bridge, where it was originally assigned. Additionally, some University-wide courses are only assigned in Bridge and will need to be completed.
-
The HRIL database updates with information from Bridge overnight each day. The training report from HRIL is most accurate in the morning, typically around 9 AM. If employees have completed annuals in the Hospital LMS, data uploads are done infrequently as these processes are done manually between the two systems.
-
Annuals have important information that helps keep our patients and University safe. They are also important for the Hospital's continuing accreditation.
-
This occasionally happens when previous years courses are not complete. However, when you log on to your Bridge Learning page, you can view the courses you are responsible to complete for that annual year.
-
When you finish taking a training, please make sure to click "complete," "exit," or "done" instead of x-ing out of a course. When you re-enter the course it should start at where you left off, which often is the last page. If Bridge still isn't capturing the completion of a course, please reach out to the HR Training team so they can reset and you can complete from the beginning.
-
Some University-wide courses are only assigned in Bridge, so please check your Bridge learning page to make sure you've completed all the annual trainings.
